Someone has already tried using a fly rod combo ultra-light, if so, how do you like that?

I just build Cabela's SLi a 8'6 "5wt (blank rod is 1.39 ounces) with Reversing single foot guides and added a new Lamson Waterworks ULA reel p.2 (2.9 ounces). This is by far the smallest group I've ever used - The stem perfectly cast, as if there was no effort, casting shadow if you want. When I hooked my first trout (a 12 "brown) it was like he was tied by a silk thread. I really like the texture, and I had no arm fatigue at the end of the day. Anyone else try an ultra-light? Do you like them? In the Northeast PA, Streams 40-50 m wide, I realize that the average weight is 5wt, what I was referring to the lightness of all. The stem is light feather, even if it is a weight of 5 and the reel is the lightest you can buy.

Rigging more lighter than I've ever used is a 4-wt. I find I can not banished boom as far with it - even with a raised double - as I can with more platforms heavy, so it is better for small streams, and requires more stealth in approach wary trout. Need more touch to land a fish caught, also, since you are using lighter while. But I agree - easier on the arm, and a much more intimate feel to the action. I saw some platforms fishing guys even lighter (~ 2-wt?) on my local river favorite here in Maryland, but never tried 'em myself. Where do you use yours?
